EHS at NORA 2021

EHS Momentum staffs booths at valuable industry shows throughout the year. We feel the shows we participate in contribute to the industries they support.  At EHS, we value our client’s time and look for trade shows that offer valuable information in exchange for the time spent. One such show is hosted by NORA in November and we hope to see you there.

NORA

The National Oil Recyclers Association (NORA) originated for the primary mission of fighting the hazardous waste designation of used oil.  Now called NORA, the trade association representing over 325 leading companies in the liquid recycling industry aided in the development of the EPA’s used oil management standards.

NORA hosts three events each year.  One of these events, the NORA Annual Recycling Conference & Trade Show, will run from November 10 to November 13, 2021.  If you haven’t already registered, registration is still open here.  Attendees to the 2021 NORA Conference stand to gain the information they need to succeed during these disruptive times.

Topics include:

  • 2022 Economic Forecast and its Impact on the Liquid Recycling Market
  • Infrastructure: Legislative Impact on Asphalt & RFO Market
  • The Driver Shortage is Here
  • Thermal Cracking Processes for VTAE & Plastics
  • PFAS: Accepting & Managing Considerations for CWTs.

2022 Economic Forecast and its Impact on the Liquid Recycling Market.

Elliot Eisenberg, Ph. D., acclaimed Economist coverts the economics of the liquid recycling market in relevant, educational information turning the minute details of economics into fun.  Dr. Eisenberg covers COVID, trillion dollar spending bills, supply chain disruptions, worker shortages, and $90/barrel oil predictions. This session will help you decode the chaos of the last year and a half, covering the overall economy, GDP performance, oil prices, workforce challenges and more.

Infrastructure: Legislative Impact on Asphalt & RFO Market

This session will cover the latest hot mix asphalt volumes and the 2022 forecast to consider when forming your budget. The more than a trillion dollars of planned spending on roads, bridges and related items will impact asphalt and recycled fuel oil markets. In spite of recent reduced market share of recycled fuel oil consumed at hot mix asphalt plants, there are still areas where RFO is still a viable product to hot mix asphalt plants.

The Driver Shortage is Here

Hear from the Industry expert on best practices on driver recruitment and retention in today’s tight driver market.  The driver shortage is only worsened by the pandemic.  Hear more on the now unavoidable issue of drivers wage demands. Low pay is the most often cause cited for the shortage.

Thermal Cracking Processes for VTAE & Plastics

Louis Bertrand compares common thermal cracking processes when applied to VTAE and other troublesome feedstocks such as plastics. VTAE (vacuum tower asphalt extender) waste plastics and refinery vacuum tower bottoms are heavy hydrocarbons that have higher value if cracked into lighter products. Hear about cracking processes that could be applied and about the many tryouts of different proven refinery processes in plastics.

PFAS: Accepting & Managing Considerations for CWTs

NORA members will enjoy this PFAS (polyfluoroalkyl substances) presentation covering water management, EPA research and development of regulatory frameworks as related to PFAS.  Future PFAS regulations clearly will impact NORA members directly.

Aside from the sessions, EHS at NORA 2021 would love to show you just how easy we have made rollout and maintenance of your safety program. Contact us for more information.
